Baptism

St. Columba’s welcomes all persons desiring Baptism to receive the sacrament here at St. Columba’s. We are excited to welcome the newly baptized and their family into our community and the Body of Christ!

Baptism is offered on significant Sundays in the Church’s calendar year. It is a joyous celebration where the whole community welcomes and promises to support the newly baptised. During the 2026-2027 program year Baptisms will be offered on the Celebration of All Saints, November 1, 2026; the Baptism of Jesus, January 1, 2027; at the Easter Vigil, Saturday March 27, 2027 at 7pm; on Easter Sunday, March 28, 2027 at the 9:15am and 11:15am Wee Worship services only; on Pentecost, May 16, 2027; and on July 11, 2027. Baptism is available at all services, except as noted on Easter Day.

We ask that the baptismal candidate, their parents (for children), and their sponsors (Godparents) attend a preparation class and a rehearsal. This conversation is a chance for us to learn more about one another and the meanings and symbolism of Baptism. You are welcome to attend any of the preparation sessions on zoom (7:45-9pm) prior to your preferred Baptism date and to attend the rehearsal just before your baptism date. If you would like to be baptised or have your child(ren) baptised this year, please register here and make note of the dates in the following table for preparation, registration deadline and rehearsal. After you register, we will reach out to confirm your information.
