A familiar presence in musical Washington for many years, John has been at St. Columba’s since 1994, directing the Primary Choir, Boy Choir, Boy Chapel Choir and Gallery Choir. He teaches privately and is known for his work as a jazz and rock keyboard player. John received his first music training as a child growing up at St. John’s, Norwood. He worked as assistant at Epiphany Church, developed and directed the music program at St. Patrick’s, served as Music Director at St. Mary Magdalene, and has been a part of the music department at Landon School. In June 2010 he was named director of music, following the retirement of Judy Dodge, and is enjoying time at the helm of our many choirs and musical groups.
