Dec. 13, 2011—Beverly Fletcher, wife of the late George Fletcher, died on Dec. 12. She was 89 years old. A private family ceremony will be held at St. Columba’s in early January.
Beverly had been living in Virginia for the past few years, but the house on the corner of Butterworth and 42nd Street was named in honor of the Fletcher family. Today it is home to The Haven, a transitional residence and counseling program for women who have been homeless, operated in partnership between St. Columba's and the Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place.
May Beverly's soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
