For over 30 years, Rebuilding Together DC has helped low income and elderly families in making home repairs. Over the years, St. Columba’s parishioners have assisted many families in Ward 4, making their homes safer (with handrails and new lights), helping with plumbing, painting and door repairs, an installation of a solar energy system to reduce the electrical costs, and fixing walls and ceilings that had been damaged by leaking roofs (also repaired through Rebuilding Together). Our efforts allow families to stay safe and warm in their homes.

Rebuilding Together, then known as Christmas in April, was founded by a St. Columba’s parishioner in 1984. It is a ministry that has been able to help more than 50 families in our community.
