A/V Guild members have a largely invisible but vital role each Sunday: they make sure that all parishioners can hear and see what’s going on during services and forums. If you can navigate a DVR or adjust the volume on your car stereo, you have more than enough technical skill to operate our camera and microphones. Most volunteers serve once a month at the service they regularly attend. We’re especially looking for people who’d like to help with sound and recording at Sunday Forums. Handbell ringers, both beginners and those with experience, make a unique musical and liturgical contribution at St. Columba’s. Ringers learn to take responsibility for their own individual notes and to function within a closely knit team. As part of bell rehearsals, music reading and ringing techniques are taught. We have three bell groups, depending on your level of skill and desired commitment.
For intermediate and advanced ringers of any age, this group rehearses on Mondays evenings from 7 to 9 pm, and plays several times a year for church services and special occasions.

This group, for adults at any level, is the only handbell choir at St. Columba’s that rehearses during the day, on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. It plays just a few times a year. With an emphasis on fellowship and the joy of making music, the choir has a broad and interesting repertoire.

This advanced choir is for those with experience in ringing bells. It rehearses at special times to prepare for festival services.
