Rector Candidates
Dear Future Rector,
St. Columba’s is a church on a mission to Live God’s Love. And with our current beloved rector planning to retire in March 2025, we are also on a mission to find our future rector. We are grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us!
We hope you have read our profile which is posted through Episcopal networks. In this profile, we worked hard to convey who we are as a community — what we are proud of, where we may be falling short of our aspirations, and the kind of leader we are seeking.
Another way to get to know us is by exploring our website. There is a lot going on at St. C’s! So, we have included below some key points about St. C’s and suggested web and video links.
In preparation for our rector search, a parish vitality survey was given to each parishioner and more than 330 people responded. On each aspect of parish vitality the results were overwhelmingly positive. The survey also showed that the congregation remains excited about and committed to our five strategic priorities, which are to Strengthen Community, Practice Faith, Become Anti-Racist, Embrace our World, and Build Capacity.
Based on engagement with the congregation and staff and a process of deep discernment, the Vestry developed a job description for the next rector. We hope this is helpful to you in your own discernment process.
Again, we are grateful for your interest. If you are hearing a call from God to enter into a deeper conversation, and possibly to love and lead us, please apply by sending a letter of interest, resume and OTM Ministry Profile to [email protected]
We look forward to engaging with you!
Sincerely,
Sara Glenn, Senior Warden
Gina Lagomarsino, Junior Warden
On behalf of the Vestry
A note about our expected timeline: The position was posted in late July 2024. We expect to review applications and start interviewing in September and October. Our current rector will retire in March 2025. We hope to have our new rector start early summer 2025. We know that God doesn’t always work according to pre-determined timelines! If your timeline is different, please don’t let that deter you. Just let us know your situation.

Children and Youth
We are proud of our programs for children, youth and families
At St. Columba’s, we see and embrace all children as an active and essential part of our parish. Our children’s programs interweave worship, formation and service to help our young ones live out their baptismal covenant and teach them the tenets of the Christian faith, while allowing them to grow, thrive and actively participate in a Christian community.
At St. C’s, we want our middle and high schoolers to feel known and valued for who they are, no matter what. Our hope is that when kids leave the St. C’s youth program, they know that God loves them, and the church needs them. To that end, we’re focused on providing a blend of opportunities for kids in each aspect of the church’s life: learning, fellowship, worship leadership, and service to neighbor.
Outreach and Advocacy
We have many direct outreach ministries and we are focused on advocacy efforts to address systemic and structural inequities
A sample of our Outreach and Advocacy:
Becoming Anti-Racist
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34
St. Columba’s has as one of its core priorities to Become Anti-Racist. We commit to becoming an anti-racist church – that is, to commit and engage across the entire parish in dismantling racism in ourselves, in our church, and in our society. This flows from our Baptismal Covenant; it is a life-long commitment and vital practice, inseparable from our identity as children of God and followers of Christ Jesus.
Faith Formation
We offer a variety of opportunities for education, different types of prayer, and adult formation.

Our Future Church
Nursery School
We run a highly regarded Nursery School. Though ultimately under the oversight of the vestry and part of the church body, the nursery school operates relatively independently, providing for its own funding and direction.
Financial Health
We have rebounded since COVID. We are in healthy financial shape, but we think we can do even better.
Our Clergy and Staff
Our current clergy and staff are dynamic and capable leaders who thrive in a culture of collaboration and trust.
Our Parish Vitality Assessment
In March 2024, more than 330 parishioners completed a survey to assess multiple dimensions of parish vitality, here are the quantitative results. Qualitative results and listening sessions informed our parish profile.
